Ragi/Finger Millet kara kuzhi paniyaram

This is a simple snack recipe that can be prepared in 10 mins.When you are looking for healthy snack option for kids or even adults,this recipe gives hand.And the ingredients used are basically available in home.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of ragi flour
  • 1/2 cup of wheat flour
  • 1 medium size onion,chopped finely
  • 1-2 green chillies,chopped finely
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed

For temper,

  • 2 spoons of oil
  • 1 spoon of mustard
  • 1 spoon of urad dhal
  • 1 spoon of channa dhal
  • 1/2 spoon of cumin seeds
  • Handful of curry leaves

Method:

  1. Mix ragi and wheat flour in a bowl along with salt.
  2. Meanwhile heat a kadai or pan and do tempering ,then saute onions and green chillies till golden brown.
  3. Add this to the flour mixture along with water and make a thick batter consistency like idly batter.
  4. Heat the paniyaram pan,add drops of oil in each hole.
  5. Pour the batter with a spoon in each hole and cook covered for 3 mins.
  6. Once the bottom turns to crisp and brown,flip over and cook the other side for 3 mins.
  7. Now the paniyaram is ready.

8.It tastes good with spicy tomato onion chutney or any spicy kulambu.
