Pasta is one of the food that is loved by kids next to noodles. But mostly they are made with All purpose flour, so we tend to avoid buying them. We will make it very rarely for our kids. But now there are varieties of healthy pasta’s available in markets. Some of them are Chickpea pasta, millet pasta, protein pasta, gluten free pasta etc.

Since there are healthy versions available, I prepare pasta for my kids without guilt. In this recipe, I have used Chickpea pasta. This pasta is best for lunchbox for kids or even a simple dinner for them.

I have used my kids favorite veggies. You can add your kids favorite veggies. This recipe can be prepared within 15 mins. Let’s see the recipe in detail.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic chopped
  • handful Sweet corn (frozen)
  • handful Green peas (frozen)
  • 3/4 cup Pasta
  • 3 cups Water to cook pasta
  • 1/2 cup Pasta cooked water
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp Onion powder (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp Mixed herbs
  • Salt required
  • 1/2 cup Heavy cream / fresh cream
  • 2 no. Cheese slices
  • handful grated cheese

Instructions 

  • In a pan, add butter.
  • Add chopped garlic.
  • Add the veggies and saute.
  • Meanwhile cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Add the pasta cooked water to the veggies.
  • Add the cooked pasta.
  • Add the spice powders and salt.
  • Add the heavy cream.
  • Add the cheese slices.
  • Mix everything well.
  • Serve hot.
  • Finally top with some grated cheese.

Notes

  • I have used frozen veggies. If using fresh peas and corn, you must boil and add them.
  • You may add any veggies your kids prefer.
  • If you do not have heavy cream, you may add whole milk.
  • Adding spices gives nice flavor. You may add anything that you have on hand.
  • Cook the pasta according to the package instructions.
