Ingredients

1spoonGarlic paste
1spoonGinger paste
3spoonGrated coconut
1/2spoonTurmeric powder
3/4spoonChilli powder
1spoonKashmiri chilli powder(optional)
2spoonCoriander powder
Water required
Salt to taste
HandfulCurry leaves
For tempering,
4spoonOil
1Cardamom
2Cloves
2Cinnamon
1Star anise
Instructions
Chop onions and tomatoes and keep them ready.
Clean and wash crab well and keep them.
Heat a kadai, add oil followed by jeera, fennel seeds and pepper and fry them.
Add kus kus.
Saute onions.
Add tomatoes and green chilli.
Add ginger paste.
Add garlic paste.
Add coconut.
Add all spice powder.
Saute them well and allow to cool.
Take the tempering items and keep ready.
Take the sauteed items in a blender and grind to paste adding little water.
Heat a big vessel or cooker, add oil and the tempering items.
Now add the grinded paste.
Add water.
Followed by salt.
Add kashmiri chilli powder and stir.
Add the crabs one by one.
Allow to boil for 10 mins.
The crab is cooked once the outer shell turns to orange colour as in pic.
Finally garnish with curry leaves.
Serve with rice.
Notes
Adding kasmiri powder gives nice color to the gravy. But it is optional.Adjust pepper according to your spice level.Adding coriander leaves, will change the flavor. So I skipped it.
