Here I’m back with another babies and toddlers lunch recipe which is so easy to prepare. And I’m sharing it so that it will be helpful for new mommies. This recipe can be given as lunch for babies. And can be given as dinner for toddlers.

This rice recipe is so healthy from fresh green peas and potatoes which are very much essential in babies diet. It is so filling for the tiny tummy.

Ingredients

  • 4 spoon Rice
  • 3 spoon Moong dal
  • 1/2 Onion, chopped
  • 1/2 Tomato, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 small Potato
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Green Peas
  • 5 no. Curry leaves
  • 1/4 spoon Turmeric powder
  • A pinch Asafoetida
  • A pinch Chilli powder
  • 1/4 spoon Coriander powder
  • 2 spoon Ghee
  • Salt to taste

Instructions 

  • Chop all veggies.
  • Meanwhile, wash and soak rice and dal for 10 mins.
  • In a pressure cooker, add rice, dal and veggies along with peas.
  • Add the masala powders and asafoetida.
  • Add garlic. Pressure cook for 6-7 whistles in low-medium flame.
  • Once pressure releases, open and check whether it is cooked.
  • Mash with a masher and add ghee while hot.
  • Serve warm to babies and toddlers.

Notes

  • You can skip chilli powder and add pepper powder oo for small babies.
  • Mash or blend thoroughly for small babies.
  • Moong dal is easy to digest than other dals.
